What if My Files are Fragmented?

Can R3Cover retrieve files on a volume that is fragmented?  What if my file is fragmented?

Where possible R3cover software will attempt to recover data based upon entries within the file system.  These entries should identify where each portion of the fragmented file resides and should provide a full and complete recovery.  This is possible for NTFS and FAT32 formatted volumes.

On HFS+ volumes on the Mac, file entries are completely removed when a file is deleted making it impossible to recover fragmented files in their entirety, Luckily Mac OS X automatically defragments files of 20MB or less, meaning that most common file types will already be stored in a non-fragmented manner and thus fully recoverable.
